Connecting Hearts and Futures at the Clackamas County Resource Fair!

This past Saturday, the Right of Passage team loaded up our banners, brochures, and bright smiles and headed over to the Clackamas County Developmental Disabilities Resource Fair. It was a beautiful day spent doing what we love most: meeting our neighbors and building a stronger community together.

Funding Divergent Dreams

We are hosting a Community Prom for the neurodivergent young adults in the Metro Portland area.

For many of our clients, this is the first time they’ve been invited to a formal event designed specifically for their needs. We want to make sure it’s a night they never forget, and we need to raise $2,800 to cover the costs and keep it accessible for everyone.

Realizing Our Vision

Right of Passage is honored to be selected as a recipient of an America 250 Oregon Commission grant. These grants support organizations whose projects help ensure Oregon’s official observance of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States is inclusive and reflects the histories, cultures, and lived experiences of Oregon’s diverse communities.

This support will help us deepen our work and expand the impact of our American Dream project. We’ll share more details as we learn more — and we can’t wait to continue this journey with you.

Calling All Volunteers

Right of Passage is gearing up for Prom Dreams Realized on May 29th, a joyful, sensory‑aware celebration designed so every student can enjoy prom in a way that feels comfortable, welcoming, and fun. To make this event truly shine, we’re inviting volunteers to help create a smooth, supportive, and memorable experience for all attendees.

We have several volunteer roles available, each essential to bringing the evening to life. Volunteers can assist with set‑up before the event or clean‑up afterward to ensure the space remains organized and accessible. During the prom, we need friendly, engaged volunteers to support the dance floor, help guide creativity at the hyperfixation station, welcome guests at registration, and serve as photo booth monitors to help students capture special moments. Here's a link for volunteer sign up.

Neurodivergent Prom

Beaverton, OR — Right of Passage (ROP) is proud to announce its inaugural 2026 Neurodivergent Prom. Our first ever prom will be a joyful, sensory-aware celebration designed for neurodivergent teens and young adults. The event will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Elsie Stuhr Center located at 5550 SW Hall Blvd in Beaverton, Oregon.

This prom provides a welcoming, judgment-free environment where attendees can enjoy music, movement, creativity, and connection at their own pace. The evening will feature a silent DJ, hyperfixation stations, refreshments, a photo booth, and plenty of space for socializing or finding quiet time, as needed. Care providers may also attend at no cost, ensuring families and support teams can participate comfortably.

“Right of Passage is committed to creating spaces where neurodivergent youth feel seen, celebrated, and fully themselves,” said ROP organizers. “Prom should be magical — and accessible.”

The Neurodivergent Prom is part of Right of Passage’s ongoing mission to support youth and families as they navigate the transition to adulthood. By offering sensory-friendly community events, the organization continues to champion autonomy, belonging, and opportunities for young people to thrive.

Visions Built

Right of Passage successfully kicked off the new year with an evening of creativity, community, and connection at the Tigard Library on Wednesday, January 21.

"We were thrilled to see the community come together in such a supportive environment," said organizers at Right of Passage. "Watching participants share their visions with one another created a powerful sense of accountability and collective excitement. Everyone, with boards in hand, left feeling energized and ready to embrace the year and promised to revisit goals at the year’s end."
